The law is changing
If you have fewer than 10 staff, your deadline is 31 March 2027.
Under England's Simpler Recycling rules, workplaces with 10 or more full-time-equivalent employees have had to separate food waste from general waste since 31 March 2025. Micro-firms — under 10 FTE — must do the same from 31 March 2027.
Most small businesses haven't heard of it yet. Getting a food waste bin in place now means no scramble, no enforcement risk, and usually a smaller general-waste bin — which is where the saving comes from.

Why we name the towns
Plenty of operators will tell you they cover everywhere. Ask them which day they’ll come, and what happens when they miss it. Our round is built as a corridor, not a scattergun — which is how we can give you a fixed collection day and actually keep it.
If you’re on our list, you get a named day. If you’re not, we’ll say so rather than take your money and hope.

Common questions
The things people ask before signing up
Am I tied into a contract?
No. We work on a rolling monthly basis with 30 days' notice either way. We'd rather keep you because the service is good than because the paperwork says so.
Do I have to pay for the bin?
No. The bin, the kitchen caddy and your first roll of compostable liners are included and delivered free.
What can go in the food waste bin?
All food — raw and cooked, meat, fish, dairy, bread, fruit, vegetables, peelings, coffee grounds, tea bags, plate scrapings and out-of-date stock. No packaging, no cutlery, no oil in liquid form, no black bin bags.
What happens to the food waste?
It goes to an anaerobic digestion facility, where it's broken down to produce biogas for the electricity grid and a nutrient-rich digestate used as farm fertiliser. Nothing goes to landfill.
Will this actually save me money?
Often, yes — but not always, and we'll tell you which. Food waste is heavy and bulky. Taking it out of your general waste usually lets you drop to a smaller general bin or a less frequent collection, and that reduction is typically worth more than the food waste service costs.
